Irish Genealogical Research Society
1799 Census of Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary
This database is available online and includes biographical details about the entire population of the town of Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary. Arranged by street, it comprises data on 1,738 homes and 10,907 individuals.
The database is the work of the Society’s Fellow and Webmaster, Nick Reddan, who is based in Australia. Noted from the original manuscript held by the British Library, it records the names of all the inhabitants, giving for each their sex, age, occupation, religion, address and, where relevant, marital status.
The surname count is free to all, while the full database is only available to members.

Originally published in 1916 as Our Heroes, this book covered the period August 1914 to July 1916. It contained photographs, with biographical notes, of officers of Irish regiments and Irish officers of British regiments who had fallen in action, or who had been mentioned for Distinguished Conduct. Also included in this volume is a brief history of the chief events of the Great War (to July 1916) in which Irish regiments were engaged.
